SIMPLE SIMON

Simple Simon is a man. He is old and weak. Simple Simon is poor. 

Simple Simon goes to the market every Saturday. He buys fruits, vegetables, meat, sugar and all the things he needs for the week.

 

Since Simple Simon is old and weak, So he always pays another man to carry his shopping goods to home. 

 

One Saturday, Simple Simon bought many things at the market. He asked another man to carry them  for him.

 

The man put Simple Simon’s goods in a basket on his head.

Simple Simon walked in front. The man followed him.

 

The man walked fast. Soon he was gone in front of Simple Simon. Simple Simon followed him.

 

Onetime the man started to run. Suddenly he disappeared from his sight. ‍ Simple Simon huffed and puffed. He  could not keep him up. 

 

When Simple Simon got home, the man was not there!  Even his shopping goods were not there!

 

The next week Simple Simon returned to the market.

 

This time he looked his friend, (Patrick). He told Patrick about the man who fled away  with his shopping goods.

 

Suddenly at the market, Simple Simon saw the same man.

 

He said, Patrick look,  There is the man in the market.

 

What man? asked Patrick. 

 

Simple Simon said, The man who carried my basket last week!

 

Simple Simon said, 'Look! He has a pimple on his nose.'

 

Patrick Looked. He saw the man standing near a cart.

 

Patrick said, Look, The man is coming this way.

 

At this time, when Patrick turned round, Simple Simon was not there.

 

Now where has Simple Simon gone? said Patrick.

 

Patrick looked all side. At last he found Simple Simon hiding behind a tree.

 

What are you doing there? asked Patrick.

 

I am hiding from that man, replied Simple Simon.

 

But why? Don’t you want to talk to him? asked Patrick.

 

Simple Simon said, Oh, no! If I meet him he may ask me for yesterday’s wage.

What money? asked Patrick. 

 

Simple Simon said, 'Well, He was carrying my bags last week. I did not pay him then. He will ask me for seven days working wage!'

Patrick Said, 'Oh, my friend! You are Simple Simon.'
