THE FOX AND THE DOG

Mr. Fox was digging hole near a tree. He found a big black bumble bee.

Mr. Fox put the big black bumble bee into a bag. Then he threw the bag over his back and began to walk.

He walked and went to a house. There was a little black woman. She was washing the floor. She was busy.

May I leave my bag here? I want to go to Squintum’s house, said Mr. Fox.

The little black woman said, Yes.

Mr. Fox said, All right,   But do not untie the bag.

Then Mr. Fox went  to Squintum’s house.

As soon as the fox was out of sight, the woman took just one little peep into the bag.

When she opened the bag, then the black bumble bee went out and the old red rooster caught him and ate him up.

Mr. Fox came back from Sqintum’s house. He took up his bag and found the big black bumble bee was gone.

He said to the little black woman, Where is my bumble bee?

And the little black woman said, 'I only untied the bag. The bumble bee flew out and the old red rooster ate him up.'

Mr. Fox said, If that is so, I must take the old red rooster. So the fox caught the rooster and put him into his bag.

Then Mr. Fox threw the bag over his back and began to walk in-front.

He walked and went to other house. There was a little yellow woman. She was making some bread. She was busy.

May I leave my bag here? I want to go to Squintum’s house, said Mr. Fox.

THE FOX AND THE DOG

After a while the fox came back from Squintum's house. He took up his bag and found the great fat pig was gone.

He said to the little red woman, Where is my great fat pig?

The little red woman said, "I only untied the bag. The great fat pig jumped out and ran grunting round the house. My little boy took a stick and chased him out of the door."

If that is so, said the fox, Then I must take your little boy.

So the fox caught the little boy and put him into his bag.

Then the fox threw the bag over his back and began to walk in-front.

He walked and came to other house.

There was a little white woman. She was making ginger cakes. There were five little girls sitting on one side of her and a big black dog sitting on the other side.

May I leave my bag here while I go to Squintum’s house? said Mr. Fox.

Yes, said the little white woman.

Yes, said the five little girls.

Yes, said the big black dog.

All right, said Mr. Fox, but you must not untie the bag.

Then Mr. Fox went  to Squintum’s house.

The little white woman put the ginger cake in the woven. Soon they got the smell of cake. They said, very good, very good! Oh mother! Can we get some cakes? All the girl's shouted.

Can I get something too? Cried the little boy in the bag.

Then the little white woman opened the bag and took out the little boy.

She caught the big black dog and put him into the bag. Then she tied up the string  tight and tight!

After a while the fox came back from Squntum’s house. He took up his bag and saw that it was tied tight.

He threw it over his back and went into the deep woods.

When the Fox opened the bag with joy, then the big black dog came out.

The dog was very hungry so he caught Mr. Fox and ate him all up.

On the other-hand, the little boy and the five little girls were very hungry too. So they sat down and ate up all the ginger cakes.
