THE MIRROR

 

THE MIRROR

Mirror was not used in this country long ago. So people didn’t know about mirror. A nomad came to visit this country.

The mirror fell from the nomad's bag while passing through the middle of the field.

 

A farmer saw the mirror in his paddy field. The farmer took the mirror in his hand and looked there. He saw a human face inside it. The man was looked exactly like his father. 

Infact, in old age every boy looks a little like his father. Similarly the farmer saw his own reflection in the mirror and thougth it was his father's image.

So he looked in the mirror again and again and thought about his father and started talking to him happily.

 

He thought his father had come back to him. So the farmer took the mirror in his bag and went back home.

He then hid the mirror in a box. Then sometimes he would take the mirror out of the box and talk to him. 

 

The farmer's wife, realized the matter, secretly took the mirror out of the box and looked in the mirror.

There he saw a girl like her. She thought her husband had married another girl and hid her in the mirror inside the box.

 

When her husband came home at noon. Then she threw the mirror in front of him and said, why did you marry another girl and bring her home?

The farmer says, "She is not my wife, but my father is back."

 

The farmer's wife shouted, "False, I saw a necklace around her neck, a ring on her hand, and a tip on her forehead. Why did you do that?"

 

Then the villagers came and said, what happened to you? 

 

Then the farmer's wife showed them the mirror and said look, my husband has married a girl.

 

They looked in the mirror. Then the person who looks in the mirror, seen another person just like him. Everyone was surprised to see it.

 

At last, everyone  realized that it was a mirror. Where one's own reflection can be seen.
